// About

The tools you already pay for are dramatically underused.

Hoss Automation was founded in 2026 by Nicholas M. Hochstedler — an operations and process-improvement veteran and lifelong Indiana operator. That gap, between what software can do and what it actually does inside a busy operation, is where Hoss works.

Nick’s story

Nick started his career as a Registered Nurse — a role that exposed him early to how much of every shift was spent fighting documentation and administrative systems rather than doing the work people came to do.

He moved into operations leadership at Hancock Health, a regional health system in Greenfield, Indiana — first leading a patient-services team of fifty-five-plus staff, then advancing to project-management responsibility across finance and operations. He earned his MBA in Health Economics at Ball State along the way, and his Lean Six Sigma Black Belt through Lean Methods Group in Denver in 2019.

Today Nick is a Senior Solution Adoption Consultant at a national enterprise software company, where he implements operational technology across large enterprise platforms. Hoss Automation lets him bring the same capability to operators closer to home — the small businesses, trades, and professional practices that built the community he grew up in.
